This month we focus on the ninth of
The 10 Be's of Positivity:
Be Forgiving.
Dictionary Description:
Showing forgiveness; inclined or ready to forgive
Find a place within your heart to
forgive the people in your life; anyone you think has
harmed you or brought forth any strife. For once you can
forgive yourself and everyone around you, the light and
love and joy you'll feel will no doubt astound you.
The power to forgive. How many of you have ever been
unhappy because you are focused on what someone else did
to you? Have you allowed your feelings to be hurt? It is
no fun to hear an unjust comment from a partner or watch
your brother taking your sister's side in an argument
instead of yours. You want to forgive them, but
you don't know if you can. In some families, there are
members who haven't spoken to each other in years
because one or the other can't forgive the other.
No one else can actually hurt your feelings. Each of us
can decide how we are going to interpret another
person's actions, taking them personally, or not. If you
remember that a person's actions have nothing to do with
you and everything to do with them, you'll have nothing
to forgive because you will never feel that you have
been victimized. And if you are able to practice living
in the moment, forgiving might come more easily to you
because you are living here and now and not in the past.
If you have the desire to live a more peaceful, grateful
and compassionate existence, make a conscious effort to
be more forgiving. You don't have to always be right;
instead be happy. You will feel a weight lift off of
your shoulders, have more energy and a pleasant and
engaging disposition if you "forgive"; not only others
for how you perceive they have wronged you, but also
yourself, for what you and others "think" you should
have said or done. Tomorrow is a new day. Wake up having
made the decision to be forgiving. And then...do it.
